Hi, We arrived back on May 10th. It's no problem at all with a wheelchair. Staff are there when you get on and off the ship. The only problem we had was when the cruise ended and we had to get off. I was left on my own to get my mum off of the ship in Southampton. This involved wheeling her down the ramp backwards, with hand luggage on the hand rails. My mum is no light weight and this proved to be very dangerous, and I nearly tipped her out sideways. Insist on them doing it. It made us feel like, we have had your money, now get on with it!!. A guy did come to my rescue, but I never should have been left to do that. Im sure it doesn't comply with their health & safety. Good luck if you do go. Its brilliant apart from that.

Hi, I'm a wheelchair user and although have only sailed with Royal Caribbean but there were no problems getting ashore. We docked at two ports and the gangway wasn't too steep. Even if it is steep, there are plenty of crew who help you on and off and they're well used to helping wheelchairs up and down the ramps. I used the tender once but it was no problem. I'm sure the other big cruise lines now are totally geared up for getting you ashore so I wouldn't worry about it. The only problem is if the sea is choppy as there's no way you'll get ashore on a tender then as it's too dangerous for wheelchairs (and crew members) to try and get on and off. You can't argue with nature so the only thing you can do is enjoy the ship if you can't go ashore. To be honest, it's great onboard the ship when peple go ashore as it's empty and feels like your own private ship! Enjoy your cruise; you'll love it.
