Find Your Cruise
You certainly need warm clothes. You may even get snow. However you may get some sunny days also but it never gets warm at the North Cape.
Hello there! Weather permitting the coach trip from Honningsvag to the North Cape is superb. The North cape itself is just that - a promontory denoting the Northernmost part of Europe; you will probably be shown a short film and then you are free to wander outside, have your photograph taken etc.As in the rest of Norway the weather is totally unpredictable but, whatever the weather, it will be COLD! Think about what you would wear on a chilly winter's day here and take that, including hat and gloves - most ships sail round the Cape at midnight and even though the sun maybe shining it will be very cold. I don't know where your cruise takes you but if you call into Tromso do consider the 'Polaria and the Huskies' excursion as it is excellent. (No good if you don't like dogs!)
Whatever you decide to do I'm sure you will have a wonderful time - the Arctic is a fantastic place, especially if you get the weather. Regards - Janet.
My wife and I took this cruise last year on the Century. Although I agree with a previous reviewer that the weather is unpredictable it was NEVER cold. We had 23C in Tromso and Bergen and rain in Geiranger Fjord. Just think about a rainy day in Scotland in July and dress accordingly. Whatever the weather you'll have a great cruise.
