On most cruises the entertainment staff host a 'singles meeting' in the first couple of days. This usually takes the form of a social gathering with free drinks and gives singles the opportunity of meeting others in the same situation. If it's the first time you have travelled alone I would suggest that you choose to join a large table for dinner, say 6/8 and also make an effort to participate in some of the on board activities such as quizzes, aerobics, yoga or dancing classes. I have travelled alone on 15+ cruises and met many lovely people, some of whom I have subsequently cruised with. I must admit that the first time I cruised alone I was apprehensive, but after taking that initial step I couldn't wait to cruise again. You will find many sociable people on board, singles, couples and families and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Happy sailing!
