Hi This is the first time Destany has done the Carribean. The Destany is a great friendly ship so you should be fine. We are booked on the relocation cruise on the 7th Dec will write a report on my return.
The destiny has been to the carribean before when she was operated by airtours .we had our first cruise on the destiny in 2006 and again in march 2008 the ship is old and urgently in need of some TLC. The destiny is going to the carribean this winter she is no longer upto that standard it is a shame because the staff and the outlook that thomson has to cruising is great relaxed dress code' great shows' all inclusive upgrades 'etc. But the ship is letting them down and it is not going to change because the ship is on charter from louis cruise lines until 2011 with no refit planned so the decor is only going to get worse. The ship is old and is indeed looking old. Most of the ships that cruise the carribean are much better. Not trying to put you off but if this is your first cruise it will probably be fine just bear in mind you can go on much better ships for the same money!! i am going on the ventura from southampton to the carribean for less with a balcony cabin [and no rust].
Me my husband and two daughters went on the destiny doing colourful coasts, we had read reports about the food, the ship two old etc and were starting to worry. I was alittle unsure about the cruise as i am not a big fan of the sea.
One of the bes holidays i have had di not want to get off, the cabin was alittle small but you are up and out, in and sleep.
We bookef to do floida again in october but if we had known the Destiny was goint to do Carribean we would have waited and gone.
Food, shows, staff and even the other people on board were excellent so go and enjoy your holiday it will be fantastic.
