It is your cruise and if your husband wants to take his dinner jacket for a formal evening then why not. Nowadays the dress codes vary but smart suit and or jacket and trousers is the case for many formal evenings but there will still be a number who will wear a tux or a dinner suit and he won't be over dressed.
We went in Nov 07, and the majority of men had dinner suits on, and the ladies long formal dresses.
Type your answer here...have been on destiny 3 times inc xmas 06 please yourself dress code optional although it is nice to see everyone glammed u.
We went 19th November 2008 men did have dinner suits but my husband wore a smart suit and a bow tie did not look out of place everyone looked very smart. Plus we had a fabulous holiday. We were very apprehensive about going and would go again tomorrow.
Thank you for all your replies. We have just come back from our cruise. It was fabulous. We were glad my husband took his dinner suit for the captains evening and I took a long formal dress, we didn't feel overdressed. Suit or long trousers and shirts for men and a cocktail dress or trousers and nice top for the ladies were more appropriate for other evenings on board. However if you don't want to play dressing up you can eat in the Lido buffet which is much less formal, but you will miss out on the fun in the restaurant - the waiters are very entertaining.
