On a two week cruise there are two formal nights- the Captain's Cocktail where most people dress formally and look lovely! These are usually on the first day at sea so take a nice cocktail dress or even a gown! The cruise indicates what the dress code is in the daily newspaper 'Cruise News' which is delivered to your cabin so you will know what the expected dress is. Go on..dress up and look lovely! Enjoy.

I think you'll find there will only be one formal night in the weeks cruise....so just the one cocktail dress will be necessary if you want to dress up..if not you can dine in the buffet restaurant. I just take black silky trousers and various tops for the other evening meals. My partner wears black suit and bow tie for the formal and polo shirts or short sleeve shirt with trousers for the other evenings. Hope this helps..if there is anything else you want to know feel free to ask! We've done it twice and have just got back from the repositioning of Celebration which was fantastic.

Meridian Restaurant requires a bit effort, nothing too fussy though. My husband wore shirt, trousers and sometimes a jacket as a few evenings were on cool side. I wore trousers and tops and a dress just once. The Captains Night - Husband suit and white shirt. Myself, silky skirt and my most glam top.
