Find Your Cruise
We are just back 6 april 2008 dont let the bad reviews put you of we had agreat time and met some lovely people i never heard a bad comment our waiter walter was so nice and our children were fussed over by every one on board also i will mention angel because he is such a character no doubt you will meet him.
We went on the Destiny in August this year, it was our first cruise and we thought it was excellent value for money. You get what you pay for these days, as we only paid £499 each for a week cruising the med we got our money's worth. The food was brilliant, choice of formal 5 course restaurant or casual buffet(more basic English food)buffet avail 24hours a day along with tea and coffee. Drinks were around £2.20 for a pint wine was approx £15 a bottle I think, but we only had coke which was £1.15 (non drinkers)
The ship itself had everything we needed, cabins on the small side but adequate for the time spent inside. Staff very friendly and helpful.
There is another review website www.holidaywatchdog.com which does have a copy of the drinks menu from a Thomson ship, this may be of interest to you. Hope this was helpful..
A friend of mine went on the destiny for her first cruise this year and she said it was fabulous and the food was delicious too! I think it is value for money and you get what you pay for, it depends on what you are looking for on a cruise- if you intend to spend time in cabin Thomson ships are not particularly good for that, their cabins are functional rather than luxurious, some cruisers like to spend time in their cabin and so pay more money for luxury, if you go cruising to see a variety of places, enjoy a bit of sun, have decent food, very good entertainment and excellent service, Thomson cruises are as good as any and at half the price! Enjoy your cruis.
Well you will not be disappointed if you book to go on the Destiny. I have been on Royal Caribbean,Carnival,Island Cruises etc and out of all the Destiny came up trumps!! The cabins are not huge, then if you are going to make the most of your holiday you are only in them to go to sleep.Dont be put off we were on cabaret deck very handy to go into one show lounge then across to the other. If you like to drink it might be worth you considering the all inclusive drinks package some Travel agents offer this as well as an upgrade cabin. Lovely boat, you will have a great time!! Happy sailing!!
I have been on the Destiny loads of times ..going again this week and we love it !!! it`s very friendly - and you get out what you put in !!tip - if you book early seating dinner you can make 2 different shows each evening 2nd seating are too late for the "games shows" which are great fun.
We have just returned from madeira on destiny have never cruised before. Would recommend to anyone can not fault anything super.
We have just returned from colorful coasts cruise on The Destiny. You will not be disappointed. The ship may not be modern by todays standards but it looks like a ship not a block of flats. The service aboard is excellent. The food is plentiful & available 24/7. The cabins are a little small but adequate as you are not in them often enough to worry. Entertainment is excellent, something to suit everyone is available. Excursions are a little pricey but it is quite easy to do your own thing at little cost. Enjoy .
I think the people who moan expect 6* luxury at 3* prices. I loved it. When you book you may get an all inclusive drinks package - I'd say the prices were about the same as my local. You may like to consider paying for the package if not offered free - although we did not drink that much at night, we did drink a lot of soft drinks during the day as it was so hot.....and they would've soon started to add up if we were not AI.
We have just returned from our 4th cruise on the Destiny, we booked to stay for a week over xmas and once again we could not fault it. it is sailing to the caribbean next xmas and we have already booked and reserved our cabin for then go and enjoy yourself you wont be disappointe.
