If you want no children and you are over 50 - go for Saga. Classic old fashioned cruising. Otherwise try Celebrity or Azamara.
You did not say if you wanted to fly out to your ship or sail from the UK i prefer the later it gives you time to unwind p&o are good and the Artemis is adults only or maybe one of the queen.
P&O Arcadia and Artemis are adult only ships. However we have been on the other ships and as the children have their own entertainment area, they are rarely seen in the rest of the ship. If you avoid school holiday periods you may not see any at all.
I am waiting for a response from the Downs,-------- THEY SEEM TO KNOW IT ALL.
Hi I have been a passenger on the Black Watch - Fred olson line they have a complete laundry room washing machines tumble driers and irons which is yours to use actually it is a very entertainin place to spend some time The ship does a med cruise and sails from the UK staff are great so is food and entertainment. We had a fab time and no children on board.
I am sorry but my Mum and Dad are away ( on corrective training) at the moment so you will have to suffer me and my wife Leanne. We are not so knowledgeable but far more abrasive.
The question in hand does depend on the time of year and if you don’t want to fly then you have less to choose from. Not overpowering ships, with no children and sailing out of the UK and going to the Med. leaves few options. Saga, P&O (two ships only) are the only two I know who have a no children policy and Regent (Radisson) on some of their ships. Azamara and Silversea do not provide for children although they are not excluded there are probably more. You might also consider Princess, Celebrity and RCI who have such good children’s programmes that you will hardly know they are there. We would suggest you avoid Thomson and Costa where you might find that you have to interact with children more than the other cruise lines. And thank you to the Gillilands for their overwhelming vote of confidence, I will make sure it is passed on. Regards to all their readers, Falen and Leanne Down
Gilliland comment- I like it! think they must be on one of their '3 cruises' they have booked this year! Their answers are ususally rude and uncivil anywa.
For our friends the "DOWNS". MY oh MY dont you have some wonderful concocted --and fitting christian names! Like my neighbours MR and MRS CART --they were going tocall their new son ORSON. I didnt think that was wise.
Being an “anorak” I have looked through the last 100 questions and 254 answers. Not one question from Dolan, washington and no sensible responses except acerbic and irritatingly obtuse comments. How strange is that, obviously at some previous time my Dad must have said something that got right up his/her nose. Cheer up Dolan, Washington, Regards, Falen Dow.
Thank you for that Falen and Leanne Down. I can assure you that I am 'cheered up' Since you do seem to have the time to browse through answers and comments why dont you check some of the rudeness I was referring to 'was your husband always a scruff' from Mrs Down in answer to an ordinary question from a contributor, and ' do you not care about your appearance' another quip from the Downs in answer to another innocent contributor...to name but a few...as I say -rude.
