Do your homework, read the brochure, get on the internet and study the ports of call, look at the ship's excursions on their official web site and then decide what you would like to see (maybe by mixing two or even three of their trips) and what is probably a waste of time. The more time you spend on getting information the easier your choices and the more enjoyable the cruise .....That's our belief...Neil and Ida Dow.

Thanks for your comment but perhaps you misunderstood my question, as I am looking for tips whilst on a cruise.

Sorry we did misunderstand you question and we're still not sure what you are looking for. We could be facetious and say the crew get the tips but that would be flippant. So probably the best tip is to mix and make friends and share your cruise with some of the nicest people you could wish to meet...and get tips as you go along from them because that will be pertinent to you ships and the crew and your ports of call. One word of warning....cruising is contagious regards Ida and Neil Down .

We have just returned from our first cruise too, we were on the Thomson destiny, everything was good. Is there anything in particular you need to know? Which ship and destination are you taking.

We took our first cruise on Thomson Celebration to Norway in 2006. We looked on the internet at first time cruises the information there was correct in what happened when we first boarded. The rest of the time we just sat back enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and then booked our next cruise when we arrived home. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
