Last time I was on this ship I was in cabin 637 which was both spacious as well as in a convenient location. I have cruised twice on Emerald and found her to be a very friendly ship. Don't forget, she is 50 years old now and is comfortable rather than the oppulance of modern ships.

Unless the top of the range cabons have been improved since I was last on Emerald (they had a lot of battered/scratched stained wood & grim carpets from family use) I was happy with a superior boat deck cabin. Not over big, but a proper window and a view - when the revolting peasant families were not drinking & snacking outside I found the entire ship noisy because of the 'entertainment' (booze-ups) going on in every public space & outside on deck. Not an experience I wish to repeat, but I wish you an interesting & peacefulvoyage.

We cruised last year on the Emerald and had out outside cabin on Lido deck at the back (759 I think) we were very happy with it...spacious...furniture little old fashioned but very clean as were the furnishings. we had a very comfortable two weeks with no annoyances at all!!! We loved every aspect of this ship.

Courtney stop worrying, a holiday is what you make it and I am sure you will have a wonderful holiday. It has been a couple of years since we were on the Emerald in the same cabin. We found it the most spacious of many of the ships we had been on, infact it was one of the best cruises we had. The Emerald and the staff were really good, I know that staff change but just from our experience I am sure that you will have a wonderful holiday. We had a great big double window with a wide window cill which you could just sit on watching the world go by, waiting on your hubby to get ready. No you will love it, have a super time. My wife and i have cruised on the Emerald 9 times. We found not just the cabins but the whole ship cold most of the time especially at night, the only advice i can give you is keep reporting it if you are not happy.I actually finished up taking the cover off of the air conditioning in the cabin and stuffing pool towels up it. We did complain when we got home but we don't think Thomsons believed us as they say nobody else complained. We really liked the Emerald but no more Thomson cruises for us. ps it did help buying a hot water bottle.
