Just returned from The Dominican Republic and cruise around the Southern Caribbean on Legend. The main puplic areas and atrium are fine, but the cabins are "tired" and in desperate need of re-furb. Food O.K. but got the distinct impression the ship was under staffed, particularly in the main dining room. Did Trans-Atlantic on the same ship two years ago, when the standards were far higher. Basically, time for R.C.I. to "off-load" this slightly older vessel.

Have only been on one cruise....yet (planning another in October). We sailed on Legend of the Seas, and although I have nothing to compare it with, we thought it was absolutely great. Loved every minute. We went from Rome on a mediterranean cruise ending in Barcelona.

Everyone has differing expectations but I have sailed on this ship and found it very good. The service and food was first class, accomodation ( outside cabin) was spacious and continually cleaned by unobtrusive staff. Great theatre and most of the entertainment was very good.I would certainly sail again on this ship. Pity about the standards of some of the fellow passengers, rude selfish, greedy I could go on, but you find that everywhere. If you book, I hope you have a great holiday wish I was going as well.

I went on the Legend to the Canaries in Oct 05. The ship has been refitted and refurbished to the same excellent standard as the other Royal Caribbean ships. The food, entertainment, service and overall cruise was wonderful, but I couldn't escape the creaking cabin at night - maybe something to do with the age of the ship? Being the smallest, the ship had a more intimate feeling than the others I've been on (Mariner, Jewel and Navigator of the Seas). Also, being the oldest ship I'd been on, it felt like second-best compared to the luxuriousness of the newer, bigger models but, saying that, Legend had many loyal fans on that cruise - and some who wouldn't sail on another ship.

We have sailed with RCI over 25 times, the whole cruise experience on Legend is second to none. Yes, she may be one of the older ships in the fleet (only 12 years old though), but the 'feel' of the ship, the service of the crew and the standard of food in the dining room are excellent. We last sailed on her May 07. Age group - early 40's with 2 young kids 8&1.

My wife and I have been cruising for the last twenty years. We have sailed on the Legend of the Seas twice the last time was in September 2007 sailing from Rome around the eastern med. In my opinion this is one of the best ships that we have cruised on and the high standards shown by the staff are what one has come to expect from RCL cruises. Go for it you are sure to have a great time.

Happy cruisers - Answered a Question by FENNELL (12 Mar 08 11:36)

Legend of the Seas was the first ship we ever cruised on so perhaps have a slightly biased view. Now, able to compare it with other ships, it has a slightly more intimate feel being smaller(Although still much bigger than some). I am sure you would be very happy to be on the beautiful Legened of the Seas. It offers most that the other ships do apart from the Royal Promenade and ice rink. Enjoy!

We were on the legend sept 2007. some of the public areas were not as clean as they could have been. food the first week was just ok but much improved the second week. a good choice of food in the self service resturant which was warm but with the use of plastic plates it cooled very quickly. our inside cabin was small but it had everything that you could want including a small couch.it was spotless. the shower was of a good size. the entertainment was excellent.the intinery, east med, was excellant the best port of call was egypt.the service and the staff were great.on the whole we had a great cruise and would cruise with the legend again. you will have a great time.

We sailed on Legend in January from Dominican Republic and had a great time. Legend of the Seas is as good as any other ship we have been on. Crew are very helpful. You'll enjoy every minute.

We sailed on Legend of the Seas in August 2006 - it was our first cruise. We had a fabulous time. Never having cruised before, we thought the ship was big at first, but after a day or so and you've got your bearings you feel that you are quite at home. Absolutely spotlessley clean, excellent staff (can't do enough for you) and fantastic food. We've booked on the Independence in August - looking forward to that one, but Legend of the Seas will always be quite special.
