Thank you for your email and apologies for the delay in my reply. Following the recent changes made to the smoking policy on board Oceana, I can confirm that we will now be implementing the same policy on board Ventura. Although smoking will not be permitted within the cabins, smoking will still be allowed on cabin balconies, on certain areas of the open decks and also in The Exchange. All other enclosed passenger areas, including each of the dining venues, will be non-smoking. As you are aware, all of our policies are under constant review and are therefore subject to change. However, our policy is and will remain fully compliant with applicable law and is designed to reflect the public attitude towards smoking, protecting those who do not wish to smoke whilst still recognising the needs of our smoking passengers. As per our Booking Conditions state, whilst we endeavour to avoid making any alterations after a booking has been made, should we need to do so, we will notify all passengers of the change as soon as reasonably possible. You then have the choice or either accepting the alteration, selecting an alternative cruise of comparable standard, if available, or cancelling the cruise and receiving a full refund of all monies paid. Therefore, should you wish to select an alternative cruise or cancel your booking, based on the new policy, you will need to contact your travel agent directly to advise them of your decision. Please be advised that any transfers or free of charge cancellations will need to be made by close of business on 14 March. I hope that this information will be of some help in the interim and hope that we will still have the pleasure of welcoming you on board soon. Kind regards Julia Harris P&O Cruises Carnival UK As received by me from p@o toda.

If you smoke - stay away!! We were on maiden voyage and the area around the smoking bar STANK as did adjoining areas - there should be NO SMOKING on board ANY ships - don't you people get the message!?!? And if you are travelling along the Portugese coast, or, God forbid, across the Atlantic, then take some anti-seasickness tabs as it rides worse than Brittany Ferries - once in the Med it was great but otherwise it floated like a cork on a stormy sea!! P&O should just leave it in the Caribbean - we went over and back there on Aurora and never felt a thing - would NEVER do it on Ventura!!!
