The Caribean Is fantastic you will love it We cannot wait to go back there again.
Reserved dining: Same time, Same people, same table, could be dire.
Freedom dining: You need to book each night to suit you.You can choose the time, type of table, and who you dine with if you want. We chose that it in very good. You will dine in the Ligurian restruarant 6 course every nightvery good food. You will need a dinner jacket and tie.for the formal evenings. Jacket and tie for the Infromal evenings and smart top and trousers for the smart casual. If you do not conform to the dress code you will feel left out. We loved the Oceana do not dine in Cafe Jordan the service is crap and the food is less than average. for snacks and lunch eat in The Plaza. The cruise director is called Gary Gladding he is excelent the best i have ever seen. Look at the excursions you can often get them cheaper by using a local taxi. The taxis are very good cheap and very close to the ships dock. Beeches brilliant sea very warm drink cheap. Let me know if I can help any more

Hello! Have been on the Oceana a few times and will also be on the Feb cruise to the Caribbean. The guide to tipping is - Your Cabin Steward, Your table waiter and his assistant and your table wine steward. The daily rate is given in a little booklet which you will find in yr cabin - you cld ask yr Tvl Agnt to get this before hand. Dining - you can ask for a particular size tabe 2,4,6, or 8 and state where about in the D/R you wld like to sit and either first or second sitting 18h30 or 20h30. You shd receive an excursion Brochure which indicates all level of excursions. You can arrange a car with a guide instead of an excursion through the excusions desk 48hrs before arriving at that Port - it is quite pricey in some Ports - but a really good option. I often take just a local taxi and negotiate for how many hours and most of them have a local map and you discuss where you want to go. Hope I have been of some little help - see you in Februar.
Hello there, we have been on the Oceana amongst many ships and we found the Oceana excellent. Take bigger size clothes because the food is wonderful. There are many different restaurants so you dont have to be seated at a certain time every night(although we did, because we like all the pomp). There were 4 of us as well and we found we done most of the trips on our own and it was better, you weren't tied down to timetables, you could suit yourselves as to what interested you the most and spend more time there. The one trip we done that was organised was the Rhum runner which is a must. Dont do the train trip a waste of time and extremely expensive just to look in poor peoples back gardens. Have a good trip I envy you. regards kath.
Hi. We went to the Carribean on the Oceana last December, it was fantastic. We are fiftyish??? and we got married on the ship. Everyone was fantastic. We had not cruised before and now we have two more booked, one of which is the one you are going on. We went for Freedom Dining and it worked really well for us. It allows you to vary what you do, when you want to do it and too not be tied to the same table at the same time and with the same people. The food is amazing, you may need a bigger set of clothes for the second week!!
We didn't book excursions, we went by taxi. The drivers were all really lovely, proud of their Islands, knew all the tourist spots and the history and all the best beaches !! We are sure you will have a brilliant holiday and hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are. Brightman. Daventr.
I was also a table of four< and would recommend that a table of ten may make your trip a more memorble event. Early dining may restrict your time to get back and changed but would make your evening after the shows more relaxing and less rushed.
