Find Your Cruise
You will find MSC different to RCI but what you have to bear in mind is have you got value for money? I have not travelled on Poesia but have done Musica (have done RCI many times and experienced over 80 odd cruises with various lines). Food on MSC is adequate ie it is acceptable but nothing special nor memorable about it. Differences you will find - shows are based for a multicultural audience so almost mime like - ie acrobats / dance etc. Everything is announced in five or six different languages. Other europeans do not know the meaning of forming an orderly queue - its a free for all for everything and spanish/germans push in front with no manners. Slight niggles with me were they tried to ply you with bottled water - do not be afraid to ask for a jug of chilled water foc if you want it with meals. Also you cannot go to the bufett dispensers and help yourself to tea / coffee / juice - this has to be served to you by the waiters and is free at meal times, but at all other times is chargable and only available from the bars. The buffet is not 24 hrs. If you are travelling with children there is no other dining alternative other than main dining room as the buffet becomes a chargeable bistro in the evening. Pool was not heated. If you have booked including their air and transfers be prepared for chaos. Read Wilba Review on this site for MSC Musica which sums it up very well. Like I said though despite the niggles we found it to be value for money and at the right price would do it again but only as a second choice.
So, what was it like? Was it better than you thought it would be? Did they enforce the dress code for the restaurants?
We heard such bad reports on MSC that we decided to lose our deposit and not go!
