Dont bother with Fred, go on some decent ships
A quick look at Fred Olsens website http://www.fredolsencruises.com/ reveals that Balmoral cruises for the first time on 30/01/08. From what I've read her style and service will be typically FO, but that she is their biggest ship.
Hope this helps. The Balmoral is an ex NCL ship and I have been on a similar one. Having only been on the Budiccia I would think the Balmoral will be a much nicer ship to sail on. A little bigger but better facilities.
I hope to book a cruise on the Balmoral later this yea.
We have cruised twice on the Black Watch, looking forward to cruising the Med on the Balmoral in May 2008.
She is to be the largest in the fleet and is being converted to Fred Olsen standards at the present.
The Balmoral was the Norwegian Crown. We cruised in the Crown from Miami thru` the Panama Canal and down the West Coast of Sth America for 14 days. A pleasant ship which has been chopped and stretched by 30 metres then refurbished to the Fred Olsens style.
