Ocean village has lots of things to do for people of all ages. and there excursions are second to none . my faverite was the jeep trip.
My 14 year old is very happy to go on coean village and likes the teen activites they organise. P&O and Princess also have a good programme for teens and make sure they are keeping out of trouble. Ocean Village has a lot of different things to do and also have an acrobat troup on board - if your daughter is happy to join in with the organised activites she will not be bored on most ships that run a teen progra.
On the contrary, the bigger the better. Ocean Village and NCL would be perfect. Through your daughter you will meet lots of people. The facilities are excellent and the dining freestyle so you aren't stuck with the same people at every meal as you might be on smaller ships with less dining options. Breakfast can be buffet style so you can choose who to sit near to and in doing so can strike up a conversation. You will both love the informal atmosphere. There are teen activities but your daughter will probably want to join you at the live shows anyway. Join in some trips and you'll also meet people on the coaches too. Go for it.
I agree the bigger the better. We have taken 4 kids now 12, 14, 15 & 16 over many years , and they love the teen clubs offered by Royal Caribbean. They are seriously cool especially higher age group, and in fact I seriously wish they weren't because we hardly see them!!! There is always pool parties, pizza nights, movies and just hanging. They have their own lounge and club room but sometimes take over the disco before adults use it. Our teens were often going to their cabin long afer I had gone to bed! She will make lots of friend.
My 14 year old daughter and i have travelled on Thomson Celebration and Island Star this year. Golden Princess and Oceana previously. All good for different reasons.
Thomsons give child prices to under 16 for excursions P & O and Island charge full adult price for over 12s. A big consideration if you are intending to tour.
