Rain wear - some parts of Alaska have rain almost every day. Sturdy shoes and the sort of clothes you would wear in the autumn in Galway.

How wonderful, we had a fabulous time in Alaska with Celebrity. Clothing, we went December and needed hats or ear warmers when near to the glaciers, but wow is it wonderful. Warm jacket with hood would be just as good. The temperature does vary but never as cold as expected. Hope you have a fabulous tim.

Expect all sorts of temperatures, there are no guarantees these days for anywhere in the world, but you are visiting a wonderful place, and although we went in June the weather was fabulous, as always now, I take and use layers, that way you can take off if you get hot and keep or put on if it turns cold/wet etc. I have learned to pack and use layers over the last few years of travel, it works very well. Enjoy Alaska, it is wonderful.

Be prepared for anything. We went in late July and had one brilliant day on Wrangell Island - temperature in the upper 70s, definitely a shorts and swimsuit day. On several other days we were glad of some warm clothing - fleeces are ideal as they are so lightweight to pack and a hooded waterproof is a must. Whatever the weather, it's a great place to visit. Don't miss the White Pass & Yukon Route train ride.
