On our trip on Infinity to the Falkland Islands in December 2006 there was almost no availability for independent tours. Such a small population that all transport including private cars, 4 x 4's etc have been commandered by Celebrity in advance. Our Californian table companions took a mini bus which plied back and forwards and was an absolute nightmare trying to get a place on the way back. Remember many Mexican American, Argentinians, Chileans and other European nationalities who have no concept of queuing and would not even give any consideration to people in wheelchairs are on this ship in large family groups. It was a free for all. And no other way of getting back to Port Stanley. I would recommend taking the organised tour here or going on the web and trying to book a car in advance. Definitely do not take a chance on getting transport when you dock.

Thank you very much for this response, we have probably decided that as were are there for around 9 hours that we will walk where we need to go to see some of the penguins etc. On another note did you enjoy this cruise as this is the exact ship we are going on and have never cruised before at all? Thanks a lo.
