Never tried using a direct booking but the website for the UK is this will let you choose when/which ship and once you get to the booking stage they will transfer to the USA site but you will still be asked how many people traveling and an opportunity to ask the cruise line to organise your fight once this stage is past you select the cruise you are after the time of the year and what type of stateroom once this is completed you will be advise of the total cost including flights if you requested this and then you can finalise the payment. I still like dealing with our travel agent we have on most occasions managed to get a price cheaper than on the net but at least you could go through all the steps above take a print-out and then contact a travel agent and see if they can better it.
