I've been to Escape and stayed on the SPA side. This is across the road from the main building. It will be quieter..
The dress code is casual, we just wore smart casual in the evenings. Food is good, staff are lovely.
One thing to watch for is the chancers on the beach. All beaches are public so you get some locals trying to engratiate themselves. They usually start by offering to put Aloe Vera on your sunburn and offer to make you up a bottle but then they ask you for $15 for it..If you need Aloe Vera (which is really good for sunburn..) walk out of the main building and go left, keep going down the road for about half mile and go Jordans supermarket they have some for around $5!
If you go into Barbardos it is easy to get around and you'll feel safe..go across the big bridge on the carenage, there is a bar on the right, go upstairs and ask for a Rum Punch.. the best i've ever had......!
Have a great time.
Just an additional to the long review above. We travelled on Destiny in May and had a wonderful holdiday. we also did a stay in Barbados, at Crystal Cove, though some people we met on the cruise stayed at Escape. I would assume you are travelling with Virgin, if you are tips were included in the their package when we went so check this out with them. Also the restaurants were called Galaxy and Universe when we were on board. We were in the second sitting in Universe along with all the other passengers who boarded in Barbados. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.
