As soon as you get on the ship go to see the Maitre D' of the restaurant you have been allocated explain the situation and tell him your preferences and they should be able to rearrange things for you, if not on the first night but on following nights ... Neil .

We have changed our table several times on various cruise lines courtesy of the Maitre D'. Have a chat with him/her on the first night. Generally 1st night is open seating due to guests arriving at different times of the day (and evening if flights are delayed) so this is the best time to ask for a change.
