Egyptians love pounds stirling and Euro's. Take cash ashore to exchange for Egyptian Pounds.

I have found that US dollars or, at a pinch, euros are the most useful.

We have been to Egypt three or four times now and have found that they will accept anything!!!! (euros, sterling or dollars) We do usually take a few Egyptian pounds tho' which are readily available from the Post Office.
