Find Your Cruise
For something special you cannot beat Cunard Grill class not so much for the cabins but for the restaurants and the use of your own sun deck and concierge lounge which are both really excellent facilities exclusive to both Queens and Princess grill clients. Your only decision may be whether to splurge on Queens Grill level or stick with Princess Grill level as both are fabulous. In both cases the cabins are good and you get some nice freebies like champagne, canapes, fruit, flowers etc but they are not as huge as suites on other ships unless you really go mad and have a suite on QM2 but that is really silly money. One other point to really enjoy was is a fabulous experience you must enjoy dressing for dinner, being treated as an individual and dining in a 5 star restaurant(that only holds about 150 people) with both a table d'hote and an a a carte menu. The major difference is also that there is never any hassle or crowds or queues that inevitably must happen in a restaurant that has to cater for 2500 people. If what I have described sounds your kind of thing you are in for a real treat aboard an ocean liner not a cruise ship.
The old adage "You get what you pay for" is very true and dining in the Queen's grill is an experience worth having. You might, if you are considering that sort of fare price consider cruising with: Crystal, Regent, Seabourn or Silversea all of whom will offer superb service and quality accommodation and pften include your dinks and tips in the price and that is worthwhile for a special occasion....Heathe.
In a nutshell ...100% YES. My preference is with Princess Grill. I have done many times. It really is a different world, if you can afford it, go for it. Feel the magic and occassion.
I have just got my diamond members card and fancy a cruise to die for.
You ask a very subjective question - is Queens Grill accommodation worth the money? The answer is that it depends entirely on your financial circumstances and your expectations. However, in my experience, particularly if you are celebrating an important milestone, Grill accommodation is a "must" and I'm sure you won't regret paying the premium.
Yes go for it ! Some of us have had to wait until we are in our late 50/60s to do somthing like this ( the best grill areas are on Q. Vic fantastic..) here is a great review from williams of St Albans and if it sounds like you want to celebrate your 40th in this style then go for it. But please ! if you if you can't be bothered to dress up or want to go self service buffet (in evenings) and waltz around with a tray looking for a table to eat then your wasting your money :.
