We loved the Arcadia, a friendly, child-free ship. Art auction seem very good if that is your sort of thing.

We went on the Arcadia March 2007 starting from Acupulco throught the Panama canal to the caribbean. Although we have cruised many time before, mainly with Princess, I was somewhat disappointed with P&O. The ship was fine but the food, in my view, was not as good as Princess. The flight, which was a charter, was terrible it was a Thomas Cook plane and to say the pitch of the seats was small was an understatement. This was without doubt the worst flight I have ever experienced and in future if I could'nt get a chargable seat upgrade I would'nt go. With regard to the art auctions, we went to most of them and ended up buying seven pictures. Most were limited editions but one was an original tile by the artist Martiros Manoukian. I paid approx £2000 including shipping and I note a similar tile is on sale on the internet for $10000. It seems to me P & O are happy if they get the opening bid price so I would avoid getting carried away with bidding up the price.
